But I doesn't know what to write about.. :(
I'm eating Carte d'Or Banana Toffee Ice Cream..
Really likes that..
Books I've having laying around (yeah.. they really should be on the bookshelf, not laying around here)..
"Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" (A nice book with most of the text in the movie and tons of images.. Even if the movie as a whole isn't that great.. the part with the tiger is hilarious, and the falling leaf totally brilliant) - Needed it to get the name of the short movie Terry Gilliam made.. The ultimate Pirate movie, in these swashbuckling days, a pirate movie that actually takes over another movie.. for a comment to wens
Sir Thomas Malory "Le Mort d'Arthur" (Volume 1 only.. Volume 2 is still in the shelf, where it should be.. even if I suppose it feels a touch lonely at the moment.. *sniff*) It's a really, really great book..
"Book ICHAPTER 1: First, How Uther Pendragon sent for the Duke of Cornwall and Igraine his wife, and of their departing suddenly again
It befell in the days of Uther Pendragon, when he was king of all Engalnd, and so reigned, that there was a mighty duke in Cornwall that held war against him long time. And the duke was called the Duke of Tintagel. And so by means King Uther sent for this duke, charging him to bring his wife with him, for she was called a fair lady, and a passing wise, and her name was called Igraine.
So when the duke and his wife were comen unto the king, by the means of great lords they were accorded both. The king liked and loved this lady well, and he made them great cheer out of measure, and desired to have lain by her. But she was a passing good woman, and she would not assent unto the king.CHAPTER 25: HOW Arthur by the mean of Merlin gat Excalibur his sword of the Lady of the Lake
And as they rode, Artur said, 'I have no sword.'
'No force, ' said Merlin, 'hereby is a sword that shall be yours, and I may.'
So they rode till they came to a lake, the which was a fair water and broad, and in the midst of the lake Arthur was ware of an arm clothed in white samite, that held a fair sword in that hand.
'Lo!', said Merlin, ' yonder is that sword that I spake of.'
With that they saw a damosel going upon the lake.
'What damosel is that?' said Arthur.
'That is the Lady of the Lake,' said Merlin; 'and within that lake is a rock, and therein is as fair a place as any on earth, and richly beseen; and this damosel will come to you anon, and then speak ye fair to her that she will give you that sword.'"
(Gotta cut back to Monty Python.. :-p "DENNIS: Look, strange women lying on their backs in ponds handing over swords ... that's no basis for a system of goverment. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses not from some farcial aquatic ceremony."
And now I've got another book here at the desk :-p
Lewis Carroll "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass".
Down the Rabbit-Hole
Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, 'and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice, 'without pictures or conversation?'"
I REALLY, REALLY should clean up my desk.. and the room.. and the whole of the apartment..
