Stockholm

Finally..

I thought I'd write this sooner.. but.. things have kept me from that.. but.. Better late than never.. :)

Well.. As some of you know, I went to Stockholm this Saturday, to meet up with frida, matttt and orb8.

Well.. Took a bus to Gävle, then train to Stockholm.. frida was a touch late, but.. we met up at City Terminalen (The center for all national bus lines, in Stockholm). Of course.. I was stupid and moved, in there.. we'd been talking on the phone where I were, in there.. but I moved some (about 100 ft), and we missed each other, so she called me, and then I spotted her, and she spotted me about 10 seconds later.. Kinda fun.. because we kept talking to each other, as we walked toward each other.. only stopped talking when we were about 10 ft from each other, so we could give each other a big hug.. (and she's so lovely, so.. one would love to hug her about all the time :) )

The we went back to her hotel, and met up with matttt, and.. well.. We decided to walk to "Gamla Stan" (= Old City, which is this preserverd old parts of Stockholm, on an island.. where you've got the Royal Castle etc).

Well. went down "Drottninggatan" which is part of a straight line of streets leading from one end of Stockholm to the other, basically.. and.. at one part, it's the main Touristy shopping street thing, with lots of cheap souvenirs etc..

Drottninggatan

Having reached "Gamla Stan", I decided (being kinda tired of all the walking and a touch hungry etc), that we should stop at Café Gråmunken and their 15th century cellar-vault, and a place I've kinda fallen in love with.. in some sense..

frida and matttt at Café Gråmunken

(and to all Americans in Sweden.. obviously.. since Gråmunken is only about 60 ft away.. I passed Gray's American Store there.. )

Well.. and we walked, walked and.. walked.. and photographed... The only sad part about all the walking etc.. (as well as frida being kinda talkative (as in.. You've probably gonna glue her lips together to get her silent :) Nah.. it's nice, actually)) is that matttt and I never really got to talk and get to know each other etc..

Obviously.. there's a lot of great looking places in Gamla Stan to photograph, and.. well.. I thought about starting a project of photographing tourists/photographers.. photographing.. :)

But.. mostly I ended up photographing <lj user=frida>.. well.. she's really stunning and charming.. so.. it's hard not to.. :)

Well.. down by a Viking Ship Restaurant...

<center><img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7401443/DigiCam/2002-09-09/P9071688.jpg?bcHUMz9AHbaOXuJt"></center>

and surrounded by lots of military marching bands (you know.. kilts, pipes, drums and stuff) I called <lj user=orb8> and decided what we should do etc, to meet up.. Not being that far from her etc.. I don't know what I expectED, really.. but.. I was surprised by her voice etc.. I almost never thinks about voices like that.. what voice a person has.. but.. I guess.. then I kinda reacted to it being something different than expected..

Well.. walked there.. talked, had fun.. photographed..

<center><img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7401443/DigiCam/2002-09-09/P9071699.jpg?bcHUMz9Af1YoHFR0"></center>

Well.. made it to where <lj user=orb8> lives, and called her again.. And.. as she guided us inside, it was the second time that day, I've talked to someone while moving towards her, and seeing her.. )

<center><img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7401443/DigiCam/2002-09-09/P9071701.jpg?bcHUMz9AGsV5dx4c"</center>

Well.. <lj user=orb8> was.. well.. obviously, as host, a touch "stressed" and occupied, but.. quiet attractive and interesting and lovely..
Dunno.. I immediately liked her, in some sense. A person I'd sure would love spending time with.. sit down and talk, walk around together talking and photographing etc.. Kinda as if we were quite the same kind of person in many ways.. Some kind of silent understanding..

Well.. All of us, <lj user=frida>, <lj user=matttt>, <lj user=orb8> and Kev had some dinner, which I have to say, was.. great.. (Why doesn't my food taste as good as others.. :( ), and.. it was fun.. sitting there and chatting..

Having teached <lj user=orb8> a thing about her camera (If suddenly all her pictures are in focus.. thank me.. LOL), we went out.. Had some ice cream.. and spent time photographing each other photographing each other..

<center><img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7401443/DigiCam/2002-09-09/P9071718.jpg?bcHUMz9AxgAKYIYb">
<i>or was it each of us hiding behind our cameras, trying to avoid being photographed :)</i></center>

Well.. walked "downtown", towards city, where we found a small restaurant, where we had some beer/wine etc.. It's a real nice place, "Bistro Boheme", with a small, quiet garden smack in the middle of the city.. Usually it's kinda hard to get a place there (at least outside), but.. we were lucky (it being kinda early).. Well.. sat there, chatted and had a nice time, before it was time for me to get to the train home...

And.. I tell ya.. I almost wanted to throw away my watch, so I'd miss it, because.. it was real nice and lovely, and what I kinda long for, more than anything.. Just to hang out with friends, chatting, having fun and being relaxed etc..

The interesting thing.. I'm terribly shy and usually on my guard, but.. with these people, I kinda felt at home with.. Was really relaxed etc.. all of them.. As if I'd known them for ages etc.. (obviously.. a lot thanks to having chatted on messengers and in LJ before we actually met... and.. kinda know each other).

Well.... Obviously I could've walked to the train alone etc, but.. <lj user=frida> and <lj user=matttt> followed me to the train.. after having hugged <lj user=orb8> goodbye (sniff.. sniff.. ) etc.. and.. well.. 2 goodbye hugs to <lj user=frida> (It's the last time I was able to meet her, since she's moving from Sweden etc, in a very, very long time.. "Oh.. the despair.. ").. I was on the train home.. where I altered between eyeing a quite attractive girl, and trying to capture a sun setting for <lj user=nakedfairy> without much success..

<center><img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7401443/DigiCam/2002-09-09/P9071724.jpg?bcHUMz9AbKL_PA64"></center>

Hmm.. when I changed train in Gävle, I had to wait some time.. and called (surprised myself) <lj user=frida>, and we actually talked for about 30 mins.. before I got on the train and it moved to some place where I lost connection.. It's ok.. Called her yesterday (Sunday), and we talked for 3 hrs.. it being the last time I had the chance to call her and hear her voice etc.. (and.. no.. weren't supposed to last for 3 hrs.. but.. )

Added: Now, of course.. I'm sure gonna miss that (Yeah.. gotta see to it that it happens me more).. hanging out with people like that.. but.. well.. that's kinda sad.. having to miss that.. but.. at the same time.. Meeting <lj user=frida> etc.. has been good for me.. it gives me energy, make me feeling a lot better in general, as well as about myself, and encourages me to become more open and "daring" etc..

And.. by the way.. these photos, and some more.. is in my <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thomluka">Yahoo Group</a>
