Suddenly decided to increase a 30% fee on Steel exported to that country, since that's a benefit for that country to do so..
Suddenly.. free trade in the world doesn't suit that country at all.. since it doesn't benefit that country..
I remember not long ago, when some other countries, in a Union, decided to have some small fee for exporting to those countries.. Then the other country, the same that now want's a 30% fee, screamed out loud about it being unfair, it being against all world trade regulations to have a fee like that, and in turn that country answered with actually forbidding some goods to be exported to that country, as well as adding an stupidly high fee on other goods.
Now, I happen to work in a steel industry.. a world leader in Steel... not doing that good, but fairly good.. actually with a chance of surving as a company on a increasingly competitive market.. Now, since that other country has decided to put a 30 % fee on steel-products, to save their own industries doing bad and not being able to compete on the world market.. they may kick out the feet from underneath the company I'm working at..
It wouldn't upset me as much, if that same country wasn't so eager when it comes to "fair play" when they benefit from it.. If Sweden would have a 30 % fee on importing steel, from that country, I bet they would put all the muscle behind it to make sure that 30 % fee disappeared..
